The O'Fallon Township High School Choral Program serves over 120 students, grades 9-12. We are so fortunate here at OTHS to provide our students with the highest level of music education through a 5 curricular courses and additional extracurricular activities. Students who participate in the choir program receive extensive vocal training, perform in concerts, festivals, and competitions throughout the country, and work with esteemed vocal groups and clinicians. In addition, students in the choral program have gotten the opportunity to perform in a wide variety of venues throughout the United States. Mrs. Heidi Polett
Heidi is an O'Fallon Township High School graduate who earned her Bachelors of Music in Education at Millikin University where she performed with the Millikin University Choir, OneVoice Vocal Jazz, and Dissonance A Cappella. She has taught High School Choir, K-4 General Music, and High School Special Education General Music. Heidi's teaching philosophy is rooted in relationship building and trauma-informed practice to better develop concepts of music literacy, tonal variety, and expressive excellence. She is excited to spend her fifth year teaching in the very halls where she first fell in love with music.
The OTHS Music Department serves over 500 students at O'Fallon Township High School. Vocal music courses offered include Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Freshman Choir, and Treble Choir. Instrumental music courses include Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Marching Band. Music theory and music appreciation are also offered to enhance the overall music program. Extra-curricular music offerings consist of Jazz Choir, Madrigals, Jazz Band, Adrenaline A Cappella, and Winterguard. Both the curricular and extra-curricular performing ensembles regularly participate in school concerts, a variety of community events, regional/state festivals, and competitions.
