A full-year academic course focusing on good musicianship through the performance of a wide variety of musical styles. This class starts out with SAB (soprano, alto, bass) voicing and ends the school year with SSAATTBB music. In addition to performance expectations, students will also study introductory music theory, sight-singing techniques, basic piano skills, and music history. Attendance at performances is ABSOLUTELY mandatory and considered as part of the basic course requirements. Freshmen Choir will prepare students with a family-like support system that will help them adjust to the high school scene before they get to Smiley Campus. Students will need a 1.5 inch black binder, note cards, paper, dividers, several pencils, and a positive attitude. All team-oriented students are welcome.
