The OTHS Choir will be hosting their annual Quarter Auction on Saturday, April 11th in the Milburn Cafeteria. 100% of the proceeds benefit ALL of the OTHS Choirs. What is a quarter auction, you
A quarter auction is part raffle, part auction, part fundraiser, and a huge direct sales party. It works a bit like bingo. When you arrive, you have the option of purchasing a bidding paddle for
$5 or for $25. A corresponding numbered poker chip is attached to your bidding paddle, and gets dropped into the raffle drum upon purchase.
We will have a number of direct sales vendors present, with all kinds of amazing products (food, jewelry, storage containers, etc.) You will have an opportunity to browse and shop their tables
prior to the auction. These vendors have also donated products to the choir program for auction. Our event coordinator- Jean Vandriel- has also been very busy soliciting donations from other
businesses over the last several months (including things like 4 Disney Park Hopper Tickets, 4 extra OTHS Graduation Tickets, etc).
As each item comes up for bid, the emcee announces the value to bid (typically 1-4 quarters). If you want to bid and purchased a $5 paddle, you place that many quarters in the bucket on your
table. If you purchased a $25 paddle, you can bid without putting any quarters in the bucket. The emcee then draws a random number from the raffle drum of poker chips. If the person with that paddle
has bid, they win the item!!!
Guests can bring in their own food & drink, similar to a trivia night. The choir will also be selling soda & water at the event. It is a very fun way to spend an evening while raising
money for the choir program.

We have asked that each choir help us to create silent auction baskets:
Freshman choir: Requesting donations of outdoor play items- (sprinkler, slip & slide, balls, frisbee, sidewalk chalk, jump ropes, bubbles, etc.)
Women's choir: Requesting donations of movie/ game night- (pencil and notepad for scoring, playing cards, uno cards, movie gift card, family movies, popcorn, popcorn
bowls, & and popcorn toppings, etc.)
Concert Choir: Requesting donation of anything chocolate- (candies, chocolate covered nuts, cookies, etc.)
Chamber Choir: Requesting donation of items for an Italian basket- (red sauce, alfredo sauce, pasta noodles, strainer, pasta spoon, Parmesan cheese, olive oil ,
gift certificate to an Italian restaurant, cookbook, etc.)
