URGENT HELP NEEDED

We are in desperate need of volunteers to help with the 6-8, and 8-close shifts of concession sales and manning the grill at tomorrow's fall festival. The students have stepped up to fill many of the other roles, but we need adults to handle these few positions. Please consider volunteering a couple hours of your time to help. Now that we have likely lost 2/3 of annual fundraising dollar with the elimination of Blues games concessions it is vitally important that we make this event as successful as possible.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Saturday evening's 6th Annual Show Choir Spaghetti Dinner. We were treated to a fantastic sneak peak of the Innovations and Great Expectations Competition shows. Special thanks to Ericka Rosenberg for coordinating this year's event. We can't wait to see the complete shows in a couple of months.

 

Fundraising Update:

Unfortunately, it is unlikely that OCRA will be able to continue doing concession sales at the Blues Games this year. This will be a HUGE blow to our fundraising efforts, as those games raised close to $10,000 of the $14,500 raised last year. As such, we are currently working on other ways to raise the money that is desperately needed to sustain the choir program. The introduction of the Fall Festival is the first new event that we are adding this year. Please share the following information and attached flier with friends and relatives that may consider coming to this fun filled family friendly event. We also need YOUR support to help make this a successful event. See the section below for more information.

 

Fall Festival:

Mark you calendars- this Friday is the first OTHS Choir Fall Festival in the O'Fallon Community Park. The festival will include a Human Foosball Tournament. You can use the following link to register your 6 person team for just $20. Note: You DO NOT have to be available at 4:00 to participate. If you cannot be there until a later time, please email us at ocra203@gmail.com and we will ensure your playing time is at a later slot. Your registration includes your email address. We will contact all participants by Thursday evening with your approximate playing time.

No athletic ability or special skills required- just fun!!! We will also have bounce houses, an outdoor showing of the movie "Toy Story," fall festival games, food & drink, and so much more. For just $10 parents can purchase a wrist band that will get kids a panther pack (hamburger or hotdog, chips, & a drink), unlimited bounce house jumps, and free popcorn with the movie. The movie showing is free!!  Proceeds will benefit ALL of the OTHS choirs. 

 

Urgent: Parent & Student Help Needed. We especially need help with the following jobs:

Human Foosball Set-up: 2-4PM

Fall Festival Game Set-up: 2:30-4PM

Concession Sales: 3:45-6PM

Grill Master: 3:45-6PM

Pizza Runner: 4-6:30PM

Human Foosball Tournament Oversight: 4:30-7PM

Concession Sales: 6-8PM

Grill Master: 6-8PM

Sell Wristbands/Tickets: 6-8PM

Pizza Runner: 6:30-9PM

Concession Sales & Clean-up: 8-10PM

 

All volunteers should report to the ticket tent if they are not sure where/what they need to do. All student volunteers should sign in at the ticket tent to ensure that they receive volunteer credit towards their choir bar.

Fall Concert:

Please join us on Thursday, October 23rd at 7PM in the Milburn Auditorium for the OTHS Choir Fall Concert. This concert is free, and will feature performances by all of the OTHS Choirs.

 

 

OCRA Meetings:

Malfunctioning Fire Alarms caused us to reschedule last week's OCRA Meetings. We will meet on Tuesday, October 21st at the Milburn Campus. The Board will meet at 6PM, followed by a general membership meeting at 7PM in the choir room. The general membership meeting is open to all choir parents- we would love to have as many parents join us as possible. One of our meeting objectives will be to create a committee to research and implement new fundraising opportunities for the choir program.

 

Take a Survey and the Choir Gets $100:

Century Resources is looking for feedback on how they can improve their program. If we are able to get 20 parents to complete the survey at the link below, we will get a check for $100!!! We would really appreciate it if you can take a few minutes to provide them with feedback.

Congratulations to the Marching Panthers for placing 7th in the BOA St. Louis finals competition!

 

Scrip Orders Due This Friday, 10/24:

The Scrip program allows you to purchase gift certificates/cards from national and local retailers. These are the same gift certificates/cards that you buy at many retailers. Many popular retailers participate in our scrip program including Aeropostle, JCPenney, The Gap, Shell, Pizza Hut, Red Lobster, iTunes, Starbucks and many, many others. OTHS Show Choir Invitational Planning Meetings:

Planning meetings will begin every other Wednesday, starting 10/29 at 7PM in the Milburn Choir Room. We need active parent participation to get all of the details squared away for this HUGE fundraising event, scheduled for Saturday, February 7th, 2015. We already have 11 schools registered, with several more in the works!!
