The O'Fallon Township High School Choral Program serves over 200 students, grades 9-12. We are so fortunate here at OTHS to provide our students with the highest level of music education through a large number of curricular courses and extracurricular activities. Students who participate in the choir program receive extensive vocal training, perform in concerts, festivals, and competitions throughout the country, and work with esteemed vocal groups and clinicians. In addition, students in the choral program have gotten the opportunity to perform in a wide variety of venues throughout the United States. Mrs. Jodi Jones
Jodi has taught K-12 choir, band, general music, guitar, music appreciation, music history and theory in Colorado, Montana, and now Illinois. She earned her Bachelors of Music with an emphasis in Voice and Saxophone and Masters of Music with an emphasis on Music Education and Choral Conducting from Colorado State University. Jodi performed in the CSU marching band, Jazz Band I, and Wind Ensemble as well as the Women’s Choir, Concert Choir, and Chamber Choir. Mrs Jones toured in South Korea and sang in the Sacred Choral Music Festival and Changwon Grand-Prix Choral Festival & Competition. She also toured in Italy and throughout the Western Slope of the Rocky Mountains including the Aspen Music Festival with the Colorado State University Chamber Choir. She has sung major works by J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Benjamin Britten, Francis Poulenc, and performed Madrigal Dinners. Her choirs performed for the Colorado Music Educators Association. Jodi sang and performed various solos with the Billings Symphony Chorale and High Plains Singers in Billings, Montana. There she directed the Grace United Methodist Church Choir and produced several Christmas and Easter Cantatas. Jodi performs with the St. Louis Chamber Chorus under the direction of Dr. Philip Barnes. Mrs. Jones has taught private voice and instrument lessons since 2000 and enjoys the chance to work with students of all ages. Jodi is a member of the American Choral Directors Association and the National Association for Music Education. Her husband, Tom Pluemer (rhymes with lemur) and their baby girl, Aria Rose, have enjoyed living in this area and are excited to become a part of the OTHS family. Go Panthers!
The OTHS Music Department serves over 500 students at O'Fallon Township High School. Vocal music courses offered include Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Freshman Choir, and Treble Choir. Instrumental music courses include Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Marching Band. Music theory and music appreciation are also offered to enhance the overall music program. Extra-curricular music offerings consist of Jazz Choir, Madrigals, Jazz Band, a mixed show choir, and Winterguard.
