The Choral Program

The O'Fallon Township High School Choral Program serves over 200 students, grades 9-12. We are so fortunate here at OTHS to provide our students with the highest level of music education through a large number of curricular courses and extracurricular activities. Students who participate in the choir program receive extensive vocal training, perform in concerts, festivals, and competitions throughout the country, and work with esteemed vocal groups and clinicians. In addition, students in the choral program have gotten the opportunity to perform in a wide variety of venues throughout the United States. The Director

Mrs. Cristina Nordin

Cristina Nordin, an Illinois native, is the Vocal Director at O’Fallon Township High School in O’Fallon, Illinois. Cristina graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Millikin University in 2010. While at Millikin, Cristina was successful as both a music education student and vocalist, and had the privilege to study music education and conducting with two exceptional choral directors, Dr. Brad Holmes and Dr. Guy Forbes. Cristina sang with the university’s premiere choral ensemble, The Millikin University Choir, along with the university’s renowned vocal jazz group, One Voice.


Before coming to O’Fallon, Cristina taught general music and music appreciation in Edwardsville, Illinois, and is currently in her 7th year at O’Fallon Township High School. At OTHS, Cristina is in charge of four curricular choral ensembles, two vocal jazz ensembles, and serves as the artistic director for the annual Madrigal Dinner and Spring Musical. She is also the director of the school’s competitive, award winning show choir program. Most recently, one of her ensembles was selected to perform at the 2013 ILMEA All-State Conference, and in 2014 , the OTHS Band and Choir had the priveledge of performing their own concert at Carnegie Hall. In addition, Cristina has served as a District 6 ILMEA choral representative and a District 6 ILMEA vocal jazz chair.

The Music Department

The OTHS Music Department serves over 500 students at O'Fallon Township High School. Vocal music courses offered include Concert Choir, Chamber Ensemble, Freshman Chorale, and Women's Chorus. Instrumental music courses include Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Marching Band. Music theory and music appreciation are also offered to enhance the overall music program. Extra-curricular music offerings consist of Jazz Choir, Madrigals, Jazz Band, a treble and mixed show choir, and Winterguard. Both the curricular and extra-curricular performing ensembles regularly participate in school concerts, a variety of community events, regional/state festivals, and competitions.Our ensembles consistently earn high ratings and praise.To visit the OTHS Bands website click here.

The School

The mission of O'Fallon Township High School is to access the talents of community, family, and staff to provide a positive environment that maximizes the potential of students to become informed decision makers, engaged learners, and responsible citizens in an ever-changing and diverse society. Serving students in an area of fifty square miles in St. Clair County, OTHS has been recognized by the United States Department of Education as one of the finest high schools in the country. District #203 has a student body of 2,500 students and a faculty and staff consisting of over 200 employees.
